I discovered my love of documenting real moments through a happy accident. I was backpacking in the Grand Canyon with a little point-and-shoot and spent so much time stopping and snapping photos that I’m pretty sure I ran most of the trail trying to catch up to my group. Yet the thing I noticed was that my favorite images were never the staged photos where everyone was staring at the camera and smiling … but those moments when people were enjoying themselves so much, it was like a camera wasn’t even there.

When I was a new mom (with a new DSLR camera), I found myself drawn to the same sorts of images. Looking back at these photos of my children made me feel and remember … the particular way he laughed at that age or the way she nestled into my arms.

These images were transportive.

I started this business so I could share this same feeling with families just like yours.

(Okay, and also so I could spend half my life ferrying my kids to soccer and ballet. You’re a parent; you get it.)

    I love the quiet promise of a new day. (Early morning is also a fantastic time for family sessions to take advantage of gorgeous light and fewer crowds.)

    Each season, you’ll find us outside — skiing, hiking, biking, paddle boarding. What’s your family’s favorite adventure? I’m always in to join you for a fun session!

  • Baking!

    Trying new recipes is a favorite way to spend my downtime. If you haven’t discovered Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest, check her out! She’s based here in Colorado.

  • Spending time in Arizona

    Arizona holds a big piece of my heart. It’s the place I lived for nearly two decades and had both my babies. I’m there often and would love to connect for a photo session.

  • Playing with my Pup

    I love, love dogs! We have a giant boxer named Louie who’s a big part of our family and my sidekick. I’m always open to including your dogs during family sessions.

  • Playing Music

    Music is a constant in our house. My husband plays the ukelele and mandolin, and I used to sing in folk ensembles with Swallow Hill. Now, I’m learning guitar and avoiding that dreaded F chord. :)

  • Babying my Plants

    My kiddos are getting bigger, so now I’ve got my plant babies. It’s soothing to water and care for my 60 (yes, 60!) plants growing in my home.

  • Exploring the Mountains
